Walnut mango wood bookcase

The Nino bookcase is an open shelving unit made from solid mango wood stained walnut. Its oval-shaped uprights structure four levels, like a stack of smooth pebbles. Mango is a hard, dense wood with unique grain from one piece to the next, harvested from fruit-growing trees without deforestation.

Open on both sides and without a back, Nino can be placed against a wall or in the middle of a room, where it separates the living room from the dining area while letting light and the eye pass through. Its shelves hold books, decorative objects and plants, up to 12 kg per shelf. Standing 165 cm high, 120 cm wide and just 35 cm deep, it takes up little floor space while providing plenty of storage. Adjustable glides beneath the structure compensate for a slightly uneven floor.

Our interior expert’s tip: don’t fill every space. Alternate a few books laid flat and standing upright with a ceramic vase, a rattan box and a trailing plant; the space between the objects lets the structure breathe and highlights the walnut finish.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stains, use a barely damp sponge, then dry immediately. Apply a special wood oil every six months to nourish and protect the wood.
