Dust your furniture without water and avoid washing it with large amounts of water: solid wood and cane webbing both dislike prolonged humidity and harsh household products, which can dull the finish or loosen the fibres. If there is a mark, simply use a very slightly damp sponge on the affected area and dry immediately. You can apply a colourless or lightly tinted dark-wood wax once or twice a year to nourish the wood and restore its shine.
